State Board of Education Meeting Dates
Sadly, Michigan lost two Republican seats in the contest for the State Board of Education (congrats to the two new members, nominated by the Democrat party!).
Here is a current list of the State Board Members; it does not yet include the current list as of January 2013 (which will include the newly elected leaders).
Our ideal voices might not have won but that doesn't mean we can't attend the meetings! Here is a list of the meeting dates (or you can see them below).
Let this serve as an opportunity to get to know the board members and follow closely the things they are discussing!

Regulations? How many???
Well the Government is hoping you don't know and don't look either.
Evidently there is this fancy-dancy site "Regulations.gov - Your voice in Federal Decision-Making" that is to serve us as a resource.
It's a great help (sarcasm) if no one knows about it. But hey - at least they are trying transparency.
Also, betcha didn't know what regulate means: reg·u·late transitive verb \ˈre-gyə-ˌlāt also ˈrā-\
a : to govern or direct according to rule b (1) : to bring under the control of law or constituted authority
(2): to make regulations for or concerning
So in layman terms (which is how I like things explained to me) - Obama and his posse are creating more and more regulations which give them the ability to put you and me more and more under government control. Great.
If you happen to be someone that voted for Obama and you think this is a good idea, I wonder if you were the teenager that liked your parents to give you more and more rules and guidelines when you were growing up?
And if you aren't motivated yet to get
involved to make government smaller - now is your chance.

And I know the woman, Michelle Malkin, behind it is a strong conservative and to me, Michelle and those she has associated with it are credible. They are able to step outside of the regular media tsunami and share other perspectives and actually - wait for it - present TRUTH!

The Election is Over...
The election is over. In between gasping for breath as we try to survive the sucker-punch to our stomach, our minds are slowly transitioning to the question of, "So, now what?"
The positive thing is that we're all in the same boat.
The negative thing is that we have to ask the question with such a heavy heart and sore belly.
But the positive thing (see two positives outweigh the negative!) is that our hearts are still beating, we live in America and God has the best ideas for freedom.
Truth be told, even if Mr. Romney had won the Presidency we should be asking ourselves the same questions. But if we're honest with ourselves our pace to find the answers would be much slower. We might get around to it 6-8 months before the 2014 election. But, thanks to President Obama's recent re-election, we have to start taking deep breaths, and getting back in the game very quickly.
Everyone deserves a free and prosperous people. Including Mr. Obama.
So here's to being good losers, good Americans and responsible Christian citizens. Don't lose heart my friends. The game is just beginning!!!
